Festival of Teej
Rajasthan has a festival for every season but Teej holds a special place as a time for rejuvenation and revival of spirits. Teej is one of the most widely celebrated festivals of Rajasthan.
Swings, traditional songs and dancing are the unique features of Teej celebrations in Rajasthan. Women perform traditional folk dance dressed in green colored clothes and sing beautiful Teej songs while enjoying their sway on swings bedecked with flowers.
Rajasthan Parishad Organizes a arts and cultural program on occasion of Teej festival. Dance performances, music recitals and plays are done by the members and their family. This even is a members only event. General public is allowed by invitation only.
Diwali Milan
Diwali, the festival of lights and firecrackers, is a perfect occasion to revive personal relationships and social ties. he festivities associated with this festival encourage people to socialize and interact with each other. Such reunions are popularly called ‘Diwali Milan’. Diwali Milan is a significant affair, as it is the time when younger people express respect to the elder one and the latter shower blessings upon the former. A special friendly and pleasant atmosphere is created all around, where everyone is busy greeting, wishing and exchanging gifts with one another.
Rajasthan Parishad organizes a fun filled get together to celebrate Diwali Milan the day after Diwali. It is a family event with lots of fun and food. Parishad members meet and celebrate Diwali Milan in ints true essence.
Blood Donation Camp
Rajasthan Parishad in association with the national integrated medical Association (NIMA), organizes an annual blood donation camp on occasion of Neta Subash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary. The blood donation camp is held at Rajasthan Bhawan, Chandigarh. On average 150 units of blood are collected every year.
Annual Arts and crafts Festival
Rajasthan is among the richest states in the country as far as the field of arts and crafts is concerned. Stone, clay, leather, wood, ivory, lac, glass, brass, silver, gold and textiles are given the most brilliant forms. Rajasthan Parishad, in association with local government organizes a 8-9 day Arts and Crafts festival every year to promote and spread arts and crafts from Rajasthan in the region. Artisans and craftsmen are invited from all over the Rajasthan to exhibit and sell their work. General public gets a chance to view the artifacts from rural Rajasthan and interact with the artisans directly.
Holi Milan
Mothered with colors, soaking wet with dyed water and filled with joy, everyone celebrates festival of colors- Holi with great gusto. When people once again come together as one and leave behind old rivalries and rows, the magic of ‘Holi Milan’ conjures up love and brotherhood. Rajasthan Parishad organizes a special get together of all the members and their families to celebrate this festival of colors.
Rajasthan Day Celebrations
Rajasthan Parishad organizes a cultural evening for members and general public to celebrate the Rajasthan day on March 30 every year. The event is usually marked by a “kavi samelan” organized where the most popular poets are invited for colorful expression of a people whose zest for life is reflected in their culture and traditions.
